Grammy Nomination Predictions: Expect Lizzo and Billie Eilish to dominate
New AW writer Cameron Deshun makes his debut with Grammy nomination predictions in 11 categories including Album, Record and Song of the Year as well as Urban Contemporary Album and Music Video.
As you’d expect, Lizzo and Billie Eilish should be clear frontrunners as nomination leaders, including facing off in multiple categories. Cameron is also seeing a lot of mentions for Gary Clark Jr. and Lady Gaga (with and without Bradley Cooper) should follow up the Oscar success of A Star Is Born’s “Shallow” with nominations for the film’s album since it debuted after last year’s eligibility cutoff.
Indie darlings Vampire Weekend and Lana Del Rey stand excellent chances at breaking into Grammy glory this year and Best New Artist could end up being one of the most competitive categories of the year.
Here are the first round of Grammy nomination predictions. Nominees for the 62nd Annual GRAMMY Awards will be announced on November 20, 2019.
